Losing Weight and Changing My Body Shape

That’s one reason that people come to us at Masters Fitness.
If you haven’t really been strict about what you’ve been eating, you don’t regularly exercise like the NHS tells us to https://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/fitness/Pages/physical-activity-guidelines-for-adults.aspx and you’ve been less active than you should have been over the past few years then that will clearly have an impact on what you see when you look at yourself in the mirror.
Losing weight isn’t easy.

If it was then you’d see so many different people walking around looking toned and sculpted in their tight-fitting clothes. But then everyone would be the same.

Maybe it’s mother nature that gave us this: the ability to look the way we want in the mirror, but only if we work hard to ensure that the effort we put in is focused and become determined in our reach for being sleek and sexy.

I’ve recorded a video about just this topic too (it’s below).

In it I talk about NIKE and their slogan: Just. Do. It.

And this is so important.

If you’ve taken years to make yourself look the way you do then you need a jump start that puts you in the right focus to move forward.

If you haven’t taken the time to get things right and exercise up until this point then you need a jump start.

Something that will give you a little bit of a kick start.

So, just go and do it.
Don’t worry about whether you have the right gym equipment, what you have, if you should be doing cardio or weights or whatever. The key thing here is just to start. Start doing something.
Do some exercise. Even if that’s going outside and talking a walk.

You don’t want to shock yourself into doing exercise because you’ll then think about things and you might slip back into your old ways.

It’s okay to take things slowly, but it’s important to actually start, begin at once and do something.

Just do it.

Just go to the gym, just go and start on your path to a healthier you.
Losing weight and getting the body shape you want in life isn’t hard. But, it does take a serious amount of effort and consistency to actually move forward and attain something.

If you want to make the effort and really get that body then you will. If you’d rather not bother and just keep doing what you’ve always done then feel free.

CHEK Personal Trainers Above All Others

At MastersPT some of the team are qualified and trained by the CHEK Institute . This means that they understand the human body at a higher level than a general personal trainer in Lancashire. When a personal trainer qualifies it’s just like passing your driving test: you then learn to actually drive your car! Well, that’s the same with a personal trainer. One they qualify that’s when the real learning and delivering comes in. It’s the point when they want as many different personal training clients as possible so that they can carve out their niche. This means they will take on lots of different clients to discover what type they want. Then, after that they will settle into their niche. However, at MastersPT we’ve gone one step further. We help individuals by learning the best way and approaches of understanding the human body. We’ve learnt what parts of the body matter and how they function in more detail. How one exercise is going to be great for one person but fo...

Why Women Train Differently To Men

One question we get asked is: “How differently do women need to train than men” and the answer to that question is, well, a little differently. We’re made very similar but also very differently. If you go into a health centre or fitness club then you’ll commonly see more women in the cardio areas and more men in the weights areas. It has changed over the last couple of years, with a shift of more women taking up weight and not going along the historical view of lifting weights will make you bulky (it doesn’t). In fact, Hayley wrote on the MPT blog about why women should be lifting weights in the gym and how doing so will help them get the body they desire in life . The clear fact and evidence behind things is that, yes, women do need to train differently to men, but not completely differently. Women can out train a guy if we’re talking about progression and staying power. That’s been evidence many times. What men can do is generally bulk up quicker (because they want to)...

Losing weight Isn’t just about doing the work in the gym

You’re there. You’ve decided that now is the time to lose weight and you’ve decided to take the right route. You want to take the advice, guidance and coaching from a fitness professional. But, losing weight isn’t just about what you do in the gym, it’s also about other things such as your stress levels, relaxation, mindset and motivation, and (some people say is ultimately important) what you eat to fuel your body. There are so many facets that go into losing weight that to consider it just to be about working out in the gym or health centre and then eating the right foods is single-minded thinking. There is so much more than that. The psychological aspects have just as much impact on your motivation (and ultimately where you end up) than the physical steps that you take to make that impact. Motivation and mindset are so important when weight loss is your key goal to living a healthier and fitter life. It’s about pushing yourself to get out of bed in the morning and get ...
